Update on the USA Tariffs and how they will affect the orders
Due to Mr President's executive order signed about the "minimis exemption" for goods worldwide, starting the 29th of August, all international orders entering the USA will be subject to tariff duties regardless of their value.
What I know for now is that the company that I'm using is deciding on two options:
- Apply a flat fee of $80 to $200 per item, depending on the IEEPA tariff rate for each country
- Apply a percentage-based ad valorem duty (10% to 15%) on the TOTAL value of the parcel.
My company told me that they don't know yet which option they will choose, but they will tell me soon.
How will I manage this?
If they choose the flat fee, I will use another company for shipping that will use the percentage fee.
If they choose the percentage fee or I use the other company, I will add more freebies, and I'm even thinking of lowering the prices on some products.
I will keep you all informed
